[…] The predecessor of the Zhongxing Cultural and Creative Park was the Zhongxing Paper Mill, which was established in 1935. At that time, it was not only the largest paper mill in Taiwan, but also held the record for the highest production volume in Southeast Asia. However, due to fluctuations in international paper prices and economic changes, the Zhongxing Paper Mill ceased operations in 2001. It wasn’t until 2014 when the Yilan County Government took over and revitalized it through cultural innovation. In 2017, the renovated Zhongxing Paper Mill officially reopened as the “Zhongxing Cultural and Creative Park”. The park has retained most of its original architectural style, making it a popular spot for artistic and trendy photos.
